Umu' experience with the whole school

On Thursday last week, our whole school had a taste of Samoa for Samoan language week and the meal was Umu'. I wondered if it took long? Yes, it took a while but that was because the extra dishes were apart of the Umu' making. The school surrounded the dishes and the teachers did toasts but Samoan style. Some students took part in making the Umu' and prepared it. Here are some photos that might give you a little tour throughout the time.

On how to make the Umu' they cooked it on top of chopped wood and banana leaves and wet cardboard on top of the food and everything else. It causes steam and heat to stay put and cook the food like it should.

Topic: Leafs - Science

Last day of Science - Topic: Leafs

Today was our last session in science, and we learned about Leafs and what more they can do other than sitting there on a branch. First, we found out what feeds them which is, Sunlight, Carbon dioxide, and water. Then we went off and looked at a leaf and described why the colors on the back and front were different. When we see a leaf we see the darker side which takes in the sunlight, with the backside it consumes the Carbon dioxide along with the vines that are on the leaf collects the water. We summed up everything and watched a 2-minute long video about an experiment on leaves, and we answered some that could make sense to us and Miss explained it to us in the end. This was our requested task to complete and share on our blog for our last science session.

I also thought of becoming a Chef, even though I don't know how to cook It’s worth a try. My last thought of what I might be as an adult, is a Dancer. Look this was a thought, but then realizing what might or might not come in the future is a big mystery to me.

There are so many places that I would like to travel to, So the first place would be South Korea. The country is very interesting and historical. Because I wonder how come North and South Korea divided? But, I ain't gonna go that far into the country. Second place I would go to is pretty much anywhere. I can pretty much go to any country they all are very entertaining and pleasurable.
