Connection's Task - Historical Aoteraroa / Treaty of Waitangi

 The treaty of Waitangi was an agreement between the Britsh and the Maori for the land Aotearoa. The Maori were the first to discover Aotearoa until the British people came over. The Britsh told the Maori that they will still own the land and an offering of learning subjects and supplies which drew the Maori in. The 500 Maori chiefs came signed the treaty and the Britsh/European came over and started to build and create buildings, Roads,  Houses, pathways and etc.

What we did last week #2

What we did last week, our class watch the third and think the last video that we had to describe. We had to answer questions and answer them on a doc but I'll just show a screenshot of what I did.

Task 1:

Watching the video: I AM A REFUGEE: Globel Refugees Bust Myths.

List the 4 main myths about refugees that were presented in this video.

-Myth 1: Refugees want to leave their country.

-Myth 2: Terrorists are posing as refugees to infiltrate other countries. 

-Myth 3: Refugees are a burden to society.

-Myth 4: Muslim refugees are more of a threat than Christian ones.

After watching this video what are your thoughts on these myths? Do you believe any of
them are true? Explain your answer. 

-From all the videos I’ve seen most of them had refugees claiming that they were terrified from all

the death threats and fears of persecution. And in my mind, I see that they wanted to stay but from all
that going on is what got them thinking that they needed to leave for the better good. 

I never really heard of the second myth which got me thinking if it is true or not, but to be honest I don’t
know what goes on there. But I do not believe this myth, if so and it’s true hopefully it stops.

 I don’t apply to the third myth because I think everybody is equal and we should all treat each other
with respect, and do not think it’s good to say that refugees are a burden to society because, in my
opinion, it’s not as 

 For the last myth, I insist that a lot of people believe this and should be reminded that this is not
what we were brought up to do and to assume that it’s true, and in my opinion, I think it’s true.

Final Thoughts:

After viewing the video in this lesson, use a separate sheet of paper to thoughtfully answer the
following 2 questions completely.

1. Do you think refugees have the right to be protected when they get to a new country? Do

you think that in most countries they ARE being properly protected? - Yes, I reckon refugees

should have the right to be protected since a lot of aren’t but I’m not the one to chose but I do believe

some countries aren’t properly protected because of ridiculousness like ‘It’s not my fault’ ‘You’re not

even ____’. 

2. Do you think the United States should have its borders open to refugees at all times? Do you think there are issues that would arise for America in doing this? -I don’t think they will have them open at all times since many do enter with a lot of issues they have themselves. But again, I wouldn’t mind this and I think it wouldn’t be such a burden for them to rome around and to live a life.

And for the last task is for an art project that my other two partners and I thought of creating relating to our cultures which include the islands of Samoa, Cook Island & Niue. Within these slides are what we wish to succeed in making for the project.

Task 2:

Asia Info:

Classification

The continent I will be talking and introducing about is Asia. Plus did you know that Asia has been most commoned and noticed by “The Great Wall Of China?” Well come to think of it, Asia is the most biggest and largest continents on earth covering 30% of Earth's total land area and 8.7% of the Earth's total surface area. Asia is 34.0479° North, 100.6197° East. The other two continents Africa and Europe. Is shares the same continental landmass. And even I didn't know those, until I did a bit of research myself.

The types of food:

What foods that are in the continent? Well there are many countries in Asia which has lots of culture in the foods which gives out a beautiful and special taste to the foods. I will start off with “What type of foods are in Asia?” Well to be honest there are many types of asian foods in Asia, and very popular, but I will just talk about two delicious foods in Asia. So first is “Xiaolongbao” its a very mouthwatering dumpling that was made in “Shanghai” it’s also called a “soup dumpling” as well. The second is “Pork Belly Korean BBQ” the food is most expensive in the country “Seoul” The price is 10,000 Won ($8.50) per person.

South korea:

South korea? One of the countries in Asia. What may I talk about it? The capital of the city of course. The capital city is “Seoul” The meaning of lots of people in the city wearing masks. Because of the pollution that goes on in the poor city.

Parts of a narrative.

Walt: Finding the 5 element of a narrative.

Task description: For our literacy we did the 5 elements of a narrative but called it Parts of a narrative. We read the book. Happy new years and wrote the first,second and an end. But for our teacher she told us that it is get to old and we are growing up so we got the 5 elements that are Exposition, Rising action, Climax, Falling action and Resolution. Using those the elements I wrote in my own way of what happened in the book and drew the actions that have gone in the book.

Favourite anime characters.

WALT: use the story context while sharing our Math's thinking.
Task description: We were using a bar graph to figure out how many out of boys and girls, that voted for their favourite anime character by showing how we worked it out together as a team describing how we got the answer.

Happy new year, Plot line.

WALT: Recognize the elements of a plot.
Task description So we had to read the book and get all the information to start and end the plot line and we used the 5 element which are. Exposition, which means the start of the story and of who and where and what that are in the story. Rising Actions, Is like what happened in the middle of the story that has you all excited and the main action that happens. Climax, Is the real action that got you hyped up and that is the plot of the story. Falling actions. Which is kind of like and rising but you just finished reading or watching to climax which kind of the best part of reading, but it means that it is going down on all the actions. Resolution. I think it means the way it ends and how it does.

To Christchurch.

Dear to all the people in Christchurch and the people who has lost a family member. And especially to our dear Muslims. I have high hope's in the future and to bless the family's and friends who had to go through so much last Friday. Saying this is really hard but I hope you past on and keep going because some people out there pray and try to support our community,  I wish for those 50 people who did go though hard times, to be happy and stay happy and we all in New Zealand will always remember you.

Creative writing.

Well if you were wondering, how did that bus get their? Why is it so old and gross?

Who did this? Well let me tell you how it all happened.

In 1919 on October the 30th early the morning around about 6 or 5, Which is Halloween so a
family  when camping to see if anything spooky happens. WAIT let me introduce the people in
the story. Mom: Her name is Hannah, but let's just call her mom for now her silk is looking after
family and very overprotective. Dad: Name is Cole, chill dad and very fit, wants people to see
him as a role model and for he kids as well. Kids is a girl and a boy both twins, Boy: Name: Liam,

wants to explore and achieve in almost everything.Girl: Name: Kat, Loves food but very fit,
everybody adores and appreciates her.  And yes I Know nobody goes camping before
Halloween, but this is in 1919 so maybe we don't know.

So the family got onto the bus and drove off to their destination, but there was a problem there
was something fishy about the bus because no one would even go on the bus plus the bus
driver stop to pick the people up. Waiting and waiting, but they weren't even close to the place,
plus it was going to 12pm they got on at about 6am or so. But the family weren't happy because
since it is Halloween they get to go straight there but no more and more people kept on coming.

The family told the bus driver to stop the bus but little did they know he wasn't listening to to them,
not making eye contact at all too. Dad says “ Umm hello stop the bus please”? Mom

“ Hello can you hear us”. ”OH sorry I could knot hear you over the noise” replied the driver.

“Ummm well can we get off here sir” “Umm are you sure? “I think you will regret it”. “Reminder-
t is 5pm a the moment”.Back to the story the family weirdly and kindly accepted the offer

and got off the bus questioning to each other why did he say that? “ Well that was creepy-
and spooky” Said The family. Well isn't it nice and relaxing out here” the family say to each
other and agree little by little. But with the kids complaining that it is very cold outside
with a bunch of blankets on.

Let's all camp out here Dad says. NO! We all say. Mom Says “ I know it is very nice and
soothing out here, but it is very cold for the kids they would get a cold”. With the kids agreeing
with thir mother, they all go to a close by hotel. Ahhhh this is the life the mom says
but with poor dad emptying out all of his pockets paying. Now with the kids their trying to
do something uhh okay what are they doing, I think their packing up and their going
into a time machine?“Woooow this is awesome where should we go?”  Said Laim.
“Ummm I'm not so sure” Repelled Kat. “ Oh don't be so silly we can make it out alive”.

“Woow what time are we in?” Hey lets go tell that old man over there.

”Uhhh hello sir but do you know what year we are in?” Said the kids.
“Well hello there kids umm that was a weird question but it is 2018”.
”WHAT” went the kids they start to panic. “Hey hey hey calm down now tell me-
why it is so surprising that it is 2018?” said the man. “We came from the past”.
“Umm thats none sense but if you say so” WAIT another reminder the kids are 11-

turning 12 years of age, carry on. “Uhg never mind” the kids say and walk off.

Well since we are here let's walk around? Well that not a bad idea and i was a bad idea.
And they were walking for a couple of hours and they start to worry. So they had there stuff
so they went camping in the forest.Oh look is that a bus? I think? Um let's go investigate.
Wait is that our bus that took us to the hotel? If you enjoyed and read till the end you are
