(Pretending I’m one of the old men in the video) When I was out fishing with my old colleague, we were silently waiting for a catch but my nose had a little itch, a big sneeze came out, and out came my dentures. My friend laughed at the scene. I lean over to where my teeth laid, and oops. My teeth fall into the deep and cold lake. I hear the most enjoyable laugh next to me while I look up at him and give him a stare. Moments later, I feel him bump against me. I realized he caught a fish. He pats my shoulder, I turn to find my dentures in the fishes mouth, I quickly take the teeth out of its mouth and into mine...It doesn’t fit? I chuck it back into the lake because I knew it wasn’t mine.
(Slight Change - Different Ending) When I was out fishing with my old colleague, we were silently waiting for a catch but my nose had a little itch, a big sneeze came out, and out came my dentures. My friend laughed at the scene. I lean over to where my teeth laid, and oops, my teeth fell into the deep and cold lake. I widened my eyes and looked up at my friend who was laughing hysterically on the other side of the boat. I quickly took my hat and shoes off and then I took a deep breath and dived into the lake, searching for my dentures. THERE it is! I found my teeth at the bottom of the lake. I swam back to the surface, I see my worried friend who helped me onto the boat and tells me how crazy and insane I am. I explained to him that without my teeth, I won’t be able to eat properly. He agreed and we continued fishing.
(Writing a pretend script of what they are saying)
Old man 1: Ha! Ha! Ha Choo!
Old man 2: (Laughing then Points to the side of the boat)
Old man 1: (Feels his mouth, then looks where his friend is pointing) - (He reaches for the dentures quietly then it falls into the lake)
Old man 2: (Still laughing)
Old man 1: Oh please I’m been through worse.
Moments Later…
Old man 2: Ooo lookie here I’ve caught myself a fish!
Old man 1: (Rolls eyes)
Old man 2: (Pulls the fish out and smiles) *Thinking: What if I…(Puts his own dentures into the fishes mouth to make it look like it was Old man 1’s teeth. He shows the fish to Old man 1)
Old man 1: Oh gosh you’ve found my dentures well not just you along with this fish. (He puts the dentures into his mouth...he realizes it doesn’t fit. He chucks it back into the lake)
Old man 2: Hold up that’s my- (The dentures have already disappeared into the lake)

Daily 5 Task - Read to Self/Someone
The book I read for Daily 5 was, Wonder. I've read this book about two times and it still gets to me. I read the first chapter which was an introduction about a little boy named Auggie when he was born, didn't develop as he should while his mother was carrying him. It took multiple surgeries to transfer the needed senses to his face. He didn't look like an ordinary kid, but to him. He thought he looks horrific. He's never been to a real school filled with kids before, and in 5th grade was his time. My thoughts on this first chapter were interesting and enjoyable. I read this book to my sister who listened after I read it to myself. This was the cover of the book that I was reading. I recently found out that there was a movie about the book and I can't wait to check it out! |
Daily 5 - Work On Writing
Free Writing - A Short Narrative
Once upon a time, there lived the tiniest Mouse. The Mouse loved to eat cheese and run around the ginormous house it sneaked into. Wondering about, it sniffs the most mouth-watering scent. It doesn't smell like cheese but it wouldn't hurt to try. It hurried, following the scrumptious aroma. 'WACK!' 'WACK!' The noises follow behind the mouse. Is this the end of my adventure already? Why must a trap be set here in this large house? How did they know I was here? The Mouse turned around to see a wooden plank with a small hardened sliver line. I've seen those traps before but this time it didn't have cheese on it? Something seems fishy but wait...I see it! I see the food! It looks as good as it does in real life! I've never seen anything like this before! When the Mouse was above the finger-licking meal, 'WACK!' A Mousetrap was placed right there. The food splattered everywhere along with a lifeless Mouse.

LCS - All about you!
Using Google Drawing we had 8 sections that said: What do you like to do in your spare time? Do you play any sports? Do you have any hobbies? What music do you like best? Do you play any musical instruments? Do you have creative interests? Have you ever been pleased with something you’ve done well? What are your favorite foods? Those were the questions we answered in the shown image. The pictures aside from the sections are pictures that match some of the description written in the boxes. Enjoy!

Maths - Independent Learning
For Maths, I had to pick two Independent math activities. Free rice and IXL were the two activities I've chosen. Free rice is like Xtramaths if you were to do maths on the site. IXL is a site that helps improve and show a way of working out the equation.
All about you - Personal Details
This L.C.S task was set for us during the lockdown. We must have a body photo of us in the middle surrounded by personal questions that I've answered. My opinion on this task was that this was a really fun task and I enjoyed it :)

Cook Island language week 2020
Yesterday Room 11 created a google drawing declaring facts about the Cook Islands since it is Cook Island Language Week. We gave ourselves questions to answer for starters and researched the information we didn't know about. It gave a lot of information which I agreed because I never knew some of it myself. I named down The types of foods, famous people, traditional places, flag explanation & famous landmarks. They all seemed very interesting and for sure mesmerizing. This is the work I've produced which includes the lists of Cook Island questions I've created. Here is my Cook Island Fact Sheet!
