Cicadas Do Maths

For this task I had to create a timeline of what I may be doing when I am 17, 34, 51, 68 and 85. I had to think about where I will be, how I might feel and what I might be doing.

The reason why I am doing this is because I have learned that Cicadas are able to do maths according to their life cycle and how they are able to prevent usual predator attacks by using the prime numbers. However this task is based on me for every 17 years of my life.

Below will show my timeline and the information about where I will be, what I could be doing and how I may feel.

17 - I will be a yr 12 still in college working towards NCEA lvl 2. I wish to surround myself with the people who are good and well behaved. I believe I will be studying hard to succeed and achieve my goals along the way, giving back to those who I owe, living the best and having fun. I hope to have learned how to drive and work a small job earning pocket money.

34 - I believe I will be in my first year working as a Cosmetic Surgeon usually earning between $72,000 and $124,000. Using the income I will pay off the fees. I wish to keep in contact with current friends at school and will totally keep in touch with my family. Hoping I will find a home that I can settle into before having my own little “Hope” family.

51 - Hopefully by then I will have a family of my own, supporting them along their way through life including my original. As I said before I believe I would be a Cosmetic Surgeon hopefully working in the private sector at the top will earn me up to 600,000 which will help me support my loved ones and myself with bills, mortgage, landmark, etc

68 - At this age I would want to make the most of being at a average age to be able to go around and have fun. Go overseas, travel, trips, hangouts or do things that will be memorable. Catch up with people or go out and explore more. I may have a partner to company throughout the activities and perhaps have my family/friends tag along.

85 - Around this age I would probably be looking after grandchildren. I would most likely be retired, resting and relaxing. I would feel like living the rest of my life enjoying and supporting my loved ones, wishing for the best until the end.

Bridge Builder

A task set for this week is about learning how to create a bridge using different shapes with any use of materials.

I needed to design and build my own bridge using geometry shapes such as triangles, arches and rectangles that spans about 30 cm.

Below will show a template that will display the before and after of the testing of my bridge and the explanations of some questions.

And Below this template will present a video of me testing how much load my bridge can carry.

Thank you for visiting my blog! Have a wonderful day :)

Senior Friendship Book

Senior Friendship Book

Red background book | Free Stock Photo | LibreShot

Last week my class Rm11 made a copy of a doc that had questions that we had to answer. We were informed that the questions were there for us to answer and for our classmates, teachers, and others to get to know us better. It makes it clearer for people to get a better understanding of our background and where we came from. Miss Tupou our teacher, wanted to create a Senior Friendship Book that had the same information about all our class members. It gave us questions like, What is your favorite ____? or What are your hobbies? or How are you most close within your classroom? and even a photo of yourself. Once we finished answering them we had to send the doc to our teacher then to go over the answers if there were any mistakes just like a writing test.

Choose it (Narrative story) Draft #2

One late night two families of one kid have trouble with the members of their family. So they decide to meet up and discuss when they should leave. On october the 13th, They decide to go today, they pack their stuff up and went to the place they always went there together. After they meet up they both shared a memory about them being happy with their family. Hours has passed, after the talk about the two kids families, they began to walk to find their new home. Its 10:30 so late. They both go to a nearby tree and laid their stuff down to sleep. A couple of minutes have passed their is a lots of noise at this time of day.

“I think it's the tree,” Joseph whispers to Claire.

“Oh don’t be silly Joseph, ” Claire answered back .

The kids wondered about the tree, as it whispers to them, “Hello kids. I think your lost would you like to come with me to my place?”

The kids were terrified of the sound it whispers again. “Don't be shy it's ok”  The kids have heard about stranger danger but it was night.

No lights, nobody everyone was a home asleep. The kids thought about the consequences if they go, but didn't know that it will happen this quick . The tree began to grow as the sun rises up too. It turn into this tree house? The kids woke up and saw that they were at the tree, they both said that it was just a dream but, the tree turned into a house? The kids go into the house to investigate it.  the tree said something.

The kids were frozen and asked it “Were you the one talking to us?” they both ask shivering in fear.

Tree replies with a caring answer, “No need to be afraid, well I help towards good and caring people”

Meanwhile as the kids a have a second to realise that they were overreacting,

the Treehouse begins to talk . “Why are you kids here?” Kids have no reply from the question. Tree asks again “Why are you guys here?”

The kids shrug their shoulders. The tree thinks about what could've happened to make those kids come here?

Tree asks another question. “Did you guys run away from home or come here to camp?”

The kids lean against the tree not knowing to answer or not. The tree tries to give a good explanation to the kids but fails. The tree gives up. The kids felt uncomfortable with the tree after the talk .

The tree knowest the kids and tries to make it up to them. “ Hey you guys could go the playground, around the corner”

The kids jump in excitement and of course says yes. The kids run to the playground, but comes towards the police trying to look for them.

“Oh no” they both say with worry in their eyes.  Draft #2. To Be Continue…..
