Weather Forecast.

WALT: have each person participate in the small group discussion.

Task description: So Me and Jarrreka were finding ways for Mr Vogt to plant his shrubs in the school garden. We used two types of graphs which were a, Line graph and a Bar graph to figure out the day.

The Pink Umbrella.

Walt: Make inferences by putting ourselves in a character's shoes. 

Task description: We read the book " The Pink Umbrella" It was about a kid whos Mama that came over and he thought differently of what she would be like to come over to he home. We ourselves in the character shoes Which is like thinking what they could say our be thinking about.

Thumbprints.

Walt: Make inferences by putting ourselves in a character’s shoes.
Task description: Thumbprints is a poem that our teacher has giving us, and we had a statement about the poem. We answer the statement Agree or Disagree, and put the evidence that we got from the poem and write it in a full senctects.

The Past Beneath Our Feet: Fact or Theory?

Walt: Explore the difference between a fact and a theory.


Task description: We read the book "The Past Beneath Our Feet" about a man how wanted to discover dinosaurs and dinosaur fossils in New Zealand. We did a statement about what happened in the story and did facts or Theories if it is true or not, and the evidence how did we know if it was a theory or a fact?

FANBOYS

WALT: Using FANBOYS to write compound sentences.


Compound Sentences

Using FANBOYS, combine the two simple sentences to make a compound
sentence.  Remember, you to make sure your new sentence makes sense.

  1. We had Te Reo class in the Whare. Our Te Reo teacher was Whaea Saf so she taught us everything she new.


  1. Moana is my favourite movie. Mrs Moana is showing at the Pt. England Reserve on Friday and she is very excited.

Task description: Today we were using fanboys to fix the sentence Mrs Moala did and make it a compound sentence. I picked two sentences that Mrs Moala has made and fixed them to make it a compound sentence.

Walt: Read a nonfiction article to gather information.
 
Task description: We did was garther all the data from the book and write it down in our own words. The book we read was Te Tiriti O Waitangi it was about how the treaty of waitangi has started and ended in peace.

Māui dolphins

WALT: Recognise words and phrases that "show" not "tell".
Task description: We read the book Māui and did a task for it, we had to answer questions and see if it is correct. We also did a show don't tell and we had to show what was happening in the picture and create a different picture by showing it in words. We even created our own task to do and it was related to the book Māui.
